2006 CROSSON DANNIS GRAND PRIX RACING SERIES

SCHEDULE AND POINT SYSTEM

The 2006 Crosson Dannis Grand Prix Racing Series will include a variety of race courses and distances to increase the level of age-group competition and participation in local Dallas area charity road running events.  The Series automatically tracks your top four finishes in each race – you are not required to enter The Series.  The 2006 Series has an Open division, a Masters division (40-54 years) and a Seniors division (55 years+).  This season will include the runners’ top three finishes from the following premier Spring 2006 races:

1.   For each race in the Series (excluding Heartbeat 5-K - the tie-breaker) the top four places in each age group, Open, Masters and Seniors, male and female, will be awarded points as follows:

Place

Points

1

100

2

65

3

40

4

25

2.   Runners will receive points for top four age group place and one of the following additional set of points:  1) top four overall place ("Open"); or, 2) top four "Masters" place; or, 3) top four "Seniors" place.  The Series will not award both Masters and a top four overall finish (now classified as "Open").

      Examples:

            a.   Joe Runner, 29, wins his age group (25-29) and places 3rd overall ("Open"); his point total for that race is therefore:

            b.   Joan Runner, 42, wins both her age group and masters (40+) and also place fourth place overall; her point total for that race is therefore:

Again, Master's/Senior's points do not apply to the Open standings.

3.   Only the runner’s top three race finishes are counted towards the Series point total.  If all the Series’ races are run, we automatically tally only the runner's top three finishes.

4.   After the Katy Trail 5K , the top four point getters in each age group will be calculated.  The top two overall (Open) male and female point getters will be taken out of their respective age groups - the next highest point getters would therefore move up in that age group ranking.  This same ranking system will apply to Masters and Seniors as well.

As a result, the Open, Masters and Seniors winners and runner-ups will not place in their respective age groups.  This allows more age group runners to place and vie for a trophy.

5.   If there are any ties (in total points) after the Katy Trail 5K, the Heartbeat 5K will serve as a tie-breaker for those individual places only:  Winner take all.  This run does not count toward Series total points.

6.   Your last name will be set by your first race entered as set forth in the official results.  If your last name changes during the Series, it is the participant’s responsibility to notify us!

7.   If you change age groups during the Series, points will be awarded in the age group in which they are earned.  Technically, a runner could win in two age groups if they change groups between the third and fourth races!

8.   The awards ceremony will be held after The Heartbeat 5K tie-breaker.

9.   All races are subject to change/deletion without notice and at the sole discretion of The Crosson Dannis Grand Prix Racing Series.

Please:  All races are requested to use the Series’ Age Groups:  0-9, 10-14, 15-19 and so on to 80+
